Kalisha Frazier
Founder & President
Kalisha Frazier is the Founder and President of Mommy Lounge, a Colorado-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building community, connection, and support for mothers, caregivers, children, and families. Inspired by both her personal experiences with motherhood and witnessing the isolation many families face, Kalisha created Mommy Lounge to provide welcoming spaces where families can access resources, build relationships, and experience a true sense of belonging.
Kalisha holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Colorado State University and has spent years serving families through community engagement, peer support, and maternal wellness initiatives. She also serves as a Peer Mentor Mom with Black Mama Circle, supporting mothers through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. Through Mommy Lounge's Bloom Events and Womb Gatherings, she works to connect families with resources, cultural experiences, and opportunities that strengthen community and promote overall well-being.
As a mother of three and a lifelong advocate for family support, Kalisha is especially passionate about reducing isolation, improving access to resources, and creating inclusive, community-rooted spaces where women of color and underserved families feel seen, valued, and empowered. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that strong communities help families thrive.
Danette Vashti Hollowell
Vice President
Danette Vashti Hollowell serves as Vice President of Mommy Lounge and brings a wealth of experience in maternal health advocacy, community engagement, and family support. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor, Doula, Maternal Health Advocate, and community educator with a background in psychology studies at Metropolitan State University. In addition to her work supporting families, Danette serves as a Program Consultant for the Woodland Plantation Museum in La Place, Louisiana, and is also an accomplished jazz vocalist and actress.
Throughout her career, Danette has worked extensively with families during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. She previously hosted a weekly Baby Café at Metro Caring, where families could access professional breastfeeding support from Certified Lactation Consultants as well as essential resources such as groceries, diapers, wipes, and baby clothing. Her experience supporting mothers and families has reinforced her belief in the power of community-centered, culturally responsive care.
Danette is passionate about ensuring every birthing individual has access to compassionate support, trusted information, and a strong community throughout their parenting journey. As Vice President, she helps advance Mommy Lounge's mission of fostering connection, belonging, and support for families while advocating for equitable access to resources and maternal wellness services.
Takesha Frazier
Director At Large
Takesha Frazier serves as Director at Large for Outreach and Fundraising for Mommy Lounge. Her passion lies in creating meaningful connections between mothers, babies, and the communities that support them. Through her outreach and engagement efforts, she helps expand awareness of Mommy Lounge's mission while building relationships that strengthen support networks for families.
Takesha is deeply committed to advancing maternal and family wellness and believes that every family deserves access to community, resources, and opportunities to thrive. Her dedication to advocacy and fundraising is reflected in her partnership with the Preeclampsia Foundation, where she has participated in and helped mobilize communities for fundraising walks supporting research, education, and awareness for two consecutive years.
As a member of the Mommy Lounge Board of Directors, Takesha works to increase community engagement, strengthen fundraising efforts, and help ensure that more families can access the support, connection, and resources they need. Her leadership is guided by a commitment to service, advocacy, and creating lasting impact for mothers and families.
Christina Demichelis
Secretary
Christina “Chrissy” Demichelis serves as Secretary for Mommy Lounge and brings extensive experience in maternal health, perinatal mental health, program development, and community engagement. She currently serves as the Program Manager for Black Mama Circle through the University of Colorado, where her work focuses on creating culturally responsive spaces that help mothers feel seen, supported, and connected. Chrissy is passionate about developing programs that reduce isolation and help mothers access the resources, relationships, and village they need to thrive.
Chrissy holds an MBA in Executive Healthcare Management and has a background in healthcare program management, maternal health advocacy, community-centered programming, and cross-functional collaboration. Through her work with Black Mama Circle, she has helped support initiatives that prioritize belonging, emotional wellness, peer connection, and resource navigation for mothers during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. As a mother of two young daughters, her lived experience deeply informs her commitment to supporting women and families.
Chrissy believes in the power of community to transform the motherhood experience and is dedicated to creating spaces where mothers can gather, heal, share openly, and receive support without judgment. Through her service on the Mommy Lounge Board of Directors, she helps advance a vision of stronger communities where families feel connected, valued, and supported every step of the way.
Marquita Hall
Treasurer
Marquita Hall serves as Treasurer for Mommy Lounge and brings more than 14 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, working with children from toddlerhood through second grade. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Colorado Christian University and is passionate about supporting the growth, development, and well-being of children and families.
In addition to her professional experience in education, Marquita brings valuable financial stewardship through her four years of service on her church's finance committee. She is honored to use her experience to help support the mission and long-term sustainability of Mommy Lounge.
Marquita believes deeply in the power of community and values the opportunities Mommy Lounge creates for mothers and families to learn, play, and grow together. She is inspired by seeing meaningful connections form between families and believes every parent deserves a supportive community that reminds them they are not alone.
In her free time, Marquita enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, taking walks, reading, playing games, and enjoying time outdoors.
